Lottery fever is high with the Mega Millions jackpot the biggest it has ever been.
Friday night’s drawing is worth an estimated $970 million, and believe it or not, that’s not even the biggest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.

No. 10: $536 million Mega Millions

The Mega Millions jackpot on July 8, 2016 was a whopping $536 million. One ticket in Indiana matched the winning numbers.
No. 9: $543 million Mega Millions

The 9th largest jackpot in U.S. history was hit pretty recently on July 24, 2018 for $543 million. The one and only one winning ticket was sold in California.
No. 8: $559 million Powerball

The 8th largest lottery jackpot also hit this year on January 6, 2018 for $559 million. Once again, only one ticket matched the winning numbers. It was sold in New Hampshire.
No. 7: $564 million Powerball

Three lucky tickets matched the winning numbers in the $564 million Powerball jackpot on February 11, 2015. One in North Carolina, one in Texas and one in Puerto Rico.
