Spectrum customers report widespread outages in Lincoln, nationwide

Charter Communications was apparently dealing with an outage of its Spectrum TV service in Lincoln on Tuesday.Television station KLKN reported that there were about 50 people waiting outside Charter’s Lincoln office Tuesday morning who had issues with their cable TV boxes that could not be resolved over the phone.
“We are aware of an issue impacting some set-top boxes for users in the Lincoln area,” a Spectrum spokesman said in an email. “Users report their boxes are rebooting and not connecting. Our engineers are actively engaged, working to address the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
He did not offer an estimate as to how many people were affected.
The website DownDetector, which tracks customer-reported complaints, listed hundreds of complaints in the past 24 hours from all over the country about outages related to both Spectrum TV and internet service. However, the spokesman said the outages were intermittent and not related. The service issues come at a bad time for Charter, which recently sent letters to its customers informing them of price increases that will take effect Nov. 1.
